One of our projects at “Shenkar Handesaim” was to design two screens for a smart home app for tablets.
Apart of being a comfortable and easy to use app it needs to do its work and have many functions to control our home in a user friendly way.
The app must have an option to control the whole house and each room and everything in it that we want to control.
Wireframing Our Home
After listing a few things that were important in my opinion to have in this app, I approached to start the first screen of the app.
Using round corners gives a more friendly feeling while using the app, so the icons need to give the same feeling and match.
Keeping everything in order is something that makes any home a smart home. Being aware of your spending let you spend more.
With a touch of a button you can reach every corner of your home.
Start your day on the right side with music you like all around your home.
Control the temperature of every room from any room.
Paint, Fonts & Icons
When I first approached this project I knew that I wanted to convey a feeling of comfort when using the app because usually when we think of a home we want to feel as comfortable as possible.
When choosing colors I wanted to use colors that would be gentle to the eyes and give a feeling of being relaxed at home. I chose two shades of blue which is a more calming color, and a peachy pink as a third color to make things that need to pop well... pop.

As for the font I chose the apple device font so it simply keep a clean aesthetic.
